Melted crayon art seems to be the new fad. It is all over the internet! Thus I decided to try it out and take a different approach by not using glue and by following different shapes and patterns.
It was not easy at first, it took me around 3-4 hours to complete the attached work. I built layers of the melted crayons on the canvas while holding the crayons down one by one with a wooden stick to keep them from blowing off. At the same time, while melting, I let them drip.
At the end, it was fun, and a great way to recycle old crayons. What do you think of Melted Crayons projects? Is it Art?
For your interest, here are the materials I used:
- a blank canvas, 12″ x 10″
- Crayola crayons, old (I used around 30-40 pieces)
- a wooden stick to hold the crayons down while under the blow dryer
- blow dryer
Love it. I have to give it a whirl!!
Thank you. Would love to see what you come up with 🙂
